MidtVind – strengthening the suppliers!
Suppliers play a key role for the innovative activities in the Danish wind industry. In the period summer 2008 - summer 2011, The Danish Wind Industry Association had set up MidtVind to strengthen and retain this role. This collaboration with the companies aimed to develop an innovative network among the suppliers for the wind industry.
The objective was to support the suppliers in a process that would enable them to be consistently innovative and development-orientated and, as an extension thereof, to undertake large system deliveries to Danish and foreign wind turbine manufacturers and thus be integrated and take active part in a value-generating system vis-à-vis the wind turbine manufacturers.
Another challenge in the effort to constantly develop supplier competences and development skills was access to qualified labour. Consequently, a key component was joint initiatives aiming at upgrading the qualifications of existing employees as well as attracting new, highly qualified employees.
This involved collaboration with relevant research and educational institutions in the field, including the engineering College of Aarhus, Aalborg University and the Technical University of Denmark, including Risø.
The MidtVind group consisted of the following Danish companies:
- AB Inventech
- AH Industries
- AVN Energy
- Dafa
- Dansk Overflade Teknik
- DEIF
- deugro Danmark
- Electricon
- Hydra Grene
- kk-electronic
- Liftra
- Lund & Sørensen
- NIEBUHR GEARS
- Weissenborn
MidtVind was supported by EU's Regional Fund and the two Danish regions, Northern Danish Region and Central Danish Region.
